Prayer Request FAQ
A prayer request is a way of asking others to pray to God on your behalf. Christians have prayed for one another since the earliest days of the Church, following the Bible's instruction to "pray for each other."
Who Can Submit a Prayer Request?
Anyone. You do not have to be a member of a church or belong to a particular denomination. If you would like someone to pray for you, you are welcome to submit a prayer request.
What can I ask prayer for?
You can ask for prayer about any situation. Some of the most common prayer requests involve healing, mental health, family relationships, marriage restoration, financial needs, employment, grief, protection, and spiritual growth. No sincere prayer request is too small or too great for God.
Can I ask for prayer for someone else?
Yes. Many people submit prayer requests for family members, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and others they care about. Praying for others is called intercessory prayer and is encouraged throughout Scripture.
What if I don't know what to write?
That's perfectly okay. Simply explain your situation in your own words. God already knows your heart. If you prefer, JesusAnswers Ministry can also write an intercessory prayer based on the information you provide. We also have a section on how to write a prayer request.
What happens after I submit my prayer request?
If you write your own prayer, it is printed exactly as submitted. If you request an intercessory prayer, our prayer team prepares one for you and prints it. Your printed prayer is hand-delivered to the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, where Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and resurrected. A photograph is taken and sent to you as confirmation. Our prayer team then continues lifting your prayer in intercession for 30 days at the Stone of Anointing, the Site of Crucifixion, and the Tomb of the Risen Christ.
Are prayer requests confidential?
Yes. Every prayer request is treated with the utmost privacy and confidentiality. Only the prayer warriors lifting the prayers have access to your request.
Do I need to write a long prayer?
No. Some people write several paragraphs. Others simply write, "Please pray for me.". Both are equally welcome. God understands every sincere prayer.
Is there a right or wrong way to pray?
No. Prayer is not about using perfect words. It is about honestly bringing your heart before God.
Why does JesusAnswers Ministry take prayers to the Holy Sepulcher?
Our ministry has chosen to hand-deliver printed prayer requests to the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem because it is traditionally recognized as the place of Jesus Christ's crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. We also lift every submitted request in intercessory prayer there for 30 days. This practice reflects our ministry's commitment to praying faithfully for every person who asks us for prayer.
Does submitting a prayer request guarantee God will answer it?
While no ministry can promise a particular outcome, we can promise that your request will be prayed over faithfully and treated with care, respect, and confidentiality. God hears the prayers of His people and answers according to His perfect wisdom and will.
