PRAYER FOR FAMILY
PRAYER FOR FAMILY
Lord,
Thank You for my family. Keep us close to You and close to each other. Heal what is broken, bless our home with peace, and let love always be stronger than anything that tries to divide us.
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
PRAYER FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Father in Heaven,
Thank You for surrounding us with both family and friends who love and support us. I ask Your blessing on each of them today—guide their steps, strengthen their hearts, and remind them how deeply they are loved by You.
Help me be a friend who encourages, a family member who forgives, and someone who brings joy instead of division. Lord, let our gatherings—whether simple conversations, shared meals, or even quiet moments—be filled with laughter, kindness, and faith.
You know the ones among us who are carrying heavy burdens. Wrap them in Your comfort. You know the ones who are joyful. Multiply their gladness. Keep us all safe, united, and growing in Your grace.
“Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
Lord,
You are our refuge and strength. I place my family into Your hands today. Guard us as we come and go. Keep us safe from harm, danger, and every plan of the enemy.
Cover our children when they are away from home. Watch over our loved ones at work and school. Surround our household with Your angels and let Your peace rule over our hearts. Protect not only our bodies, but also our minds and souls from fear, temptation, and despair.
When we feel weak, remind us that You are our shield. When we feel anxious, remind us of Your promises. Thank You that nothing can separate us from Your love.
“For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” — Psalm 91:11
THANKSGIVING PRAYER FOR FAMILY
Heavenly Father,
We pause around this table to say thank You. Thank You for the food before us, for the hands that prepared it, and for the family gathered here today. Thank You for carrying us through another year—through joys and through struggles.
We ask You to bless this meal and bless our conversations. Let this time together be filled with laughter, encouragement, and love. May our gratitude today remind us to live with thankful hearts every day, not just on holidays.
We remember those who don’t have as much, Lord—may we be generous and willing to share our blessings. Most of all, we thank You for Jesus, the greatest gift of all.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
CHRISTMAS PRAYER FOR FAMILY
Lord Jesus,
On this Christmas Day, we pause to remember what it’s truly about—Your birth, Your love, and the hope You brought into the world. Thank You for my family and for the joy of being together.
Bless our home with peace and laughter this Christmas. Heal hurts, soften hearts, and draw us closer to You and to each other.
Remind us that love is the best gift we can give one another.
We also remember families who are hurting, lonely, or missing someone they love this Christmas. May Your comfort and light reach them in a special way.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… and He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6
PRAYER FOR FAMILY QUESTIONS
How do I pray for my family?
You can pray for your family honestly and openly, bringing your family’s needs: spiritual growth, health, protection, relationships to God. Use Scripture, specific requests, and time of silence to listen, trusting God’s wisdom and timing..
What should I include when praying for family members?
You might include prayers for healing, their faith, guidance, reconciliation, and protection from harm or temptation. You can also submit a prayer request online on their behalf.
How often should I pray for my family?
Daily prayer is ideal, but consistency matters more than frequency—what counts is the heart and faith behind it. You can also send an intercessory prayer request for loved ones.
Why aren’t my family prayers answered?
Sometimes what seems like no answer means God is working behind the scenes, or that timing, unseen factors, or His higher purpose are involved. Submit a prayer request for family to the Holy Sepulcher where miracles come true everyday.
Can family prayer improve relationships in our home?
Yes, praying together improves unity, empathy, and shared spiritual connection, helping family members to grow closer and support each other.
